There's no wrong way to play, but this is how we typically do it
-
Objective
- Skip the ball into the opponent's net
- Each ball made into the net is a point
- First to 7 points wins
-
Setup
- Water depth: waist deep
- Distance between nets: 10 yards
- Net height: about 1 foot above the water surface
- Utilize telescoping twist to extend/collapse pole to desired height
- Push bottom of pole deep into the sand. If water is rough, it may take a few waves and readjustments to allow the pole to set itself in the sand
- If more stability is needed, unscrew the stake from the bottom of the net, and screw it back in with the stake pointing out. This will add 6 inches of depth into the sand
-
How to Play
- 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2
- Standing beside or behind your net, throw the ball towards the opponent's net
- Ball must skip on the water at least once before landing in the opponent's net
- Opponent must not interfere with the ball in flight in front of their net
-
Tips & Strategy
- Aim the ball to hit the water roughly 75-80% of the distance to your opponent's net
- Play the waves and current for higher skips
- Throw hard! Soft tosses won't skip as well
-
Spice It Up!
- Ball in one hand, drink in the other :)
- "Spot" rule: you must throw your ball from where you pick up your opponent's last shot. Try to stop/block your opponent's missed shot from getting too far away!
- Take drink for every shot your opponent makes
- A ball that skyps twice on the water and makes it in the net is worth 2 points!
